Envision Solar shows off their Solar Trees that follow the sun to gain 20% more efficiency than standard solar arrays.
Envision’s solar panels track the sun
Envision Solar is more than just a EVSE supplier, their EV charging stations became integrated partners with GM during the Chevy Volt Unplugged tour. They have also partnered with Bright Automotive, Coulomb Technologies, Axion Power and Sapa.
San Diego-based Envision Solar was selected by GM recently to install the innovative single and multiple vehicle solar charging stations at a number of prominent locations to promote the use of renewable energy to power electric vehicles. The charging stations use only the power of the sun to recharge the Chevy Volt’s lithium ion batteries thus not having to relying on fossil fuel-generated electricity. Envision Solar’s new CleanCharge™ solar-powered EV charging station are integrated into their EnvisionTrak™ tracking Solar Trees, which not only provide shade for vehicles but also track the sun for maximum solar energy uptake.
Solar Tracking adds 20% more efficiency
This tracking technology makes the EV charging station approximately 20 percent more productive than conventional fixed solar arrays. The charging stations will be showcased during the Chevy’s “Volt Unplugged” tour. The solar panels of Envision Solar’s CleanCharge EV charging stations are manufactured by Mage Solar an offer a best-in-class warranty and +0-5 watt rating.
